While my girls are at home in Sweden I have been in the U.S. for the past week. The first weekend I spent in Philadelphia where my sister lives with her husband. We drove out to Terrain at Styer’s thirty minutes outside the city to have lunch and get some inspiration. Terrain at Styer’s is like a huge garden center where you can buy almost everything for your garden and they have a nice restaurant as well. You can easily spend a copule of hours walking around and enjoy every little detail. If you’re into gardening or just rustic home decoration I absolutely recommend this lovely place!
Right now I’m in New York and I just love this city! I will post more photos from this trip further on…
Have a nice weekend!

I love to have a long breakfast, it’s so nice to sit and sip tea while browsing through an inspiring magazine and just enjoy the morning. In the summer I always sit outside in our small garden and in the winter I stay inside and light a lot of candles in the kitchen. My favorite breakfast is natural yoghurt with cinnamon, nuts and fresh berries, sometimes with some fresh honey on the top. I love to put fresh ginger in my tea which is both tasty and healthy.
This is one of the best and most inspiring starts of my day I could imagine!

My favorite for breakfast is blueberries!

The last two weeks have been very intense with a couple of photo shoots on different locations in Sweden. It has been exciting projects for some of our amazing clients. After two weeks of traveling with Linda, we came back home to Hilda again. She has been staying with her grandparents and they have had a great time together. But I could just stay home a few days before I got on my flight to New York for 10 days of work and meetings. Right now I’m not sure if it is day or night, but it’s great to be here!
The results of the photo shoots will be published on www.jonaslindstrom.se

This week Linda and me are on a shooting in southern Sweden. It’s a busy week but very inspiring.
I am thinking back on a Sunday afternoon about a week ago when we went down to the Kindbergs Udde, which is right where we live on Ängö to barbecue with our friends. We brought our portable Weber grill that we placed in the sand and grilled salmon with chèvre cheese and corncobs, which we ate along with delicious homemade potato salad.
It was a wonderful evening with kite flying and swimming for the kids!

A sunny day when we drove around the southern Öland I asked Jonas to slow down. Outside I saw a sea of beautiful sunflowers and all three rushed out of the car to look. The sunflowers were at least twice as high as Hilda and she walked around in a large forest of sunflowers. Öland is a wonderful place to be and we always find new treasures to enjoy.

This weekend, we made an excursion to the southern part of Öland and the ancient castle Eketorp. The castle dates from the Iron Age and is rebuilt on the site of the ancient monument. Besides archery, there were many activities and a nice museum, but Hilda liked most to look at the animals. Eketorp is beautifully situated on Öland’s great Alvar and one can look out over the the Baltic Sea in the horizon. The southern part of Öland is an incredibly beautiful place that we often go to.

One of Hilda’s favorite things to do is go to the farm. Last Thursday, it was a wonderful evening and we took our bikes to go and watch the animals at Skälby Gård. Hilda was a little pending when we walked into the large goat in the pasture, but after a while she dared to pat it. We also met really cute kid who was very curious and came and sniffed at us. Before we rode home, we went through the beautiful allotment gardens and looked at all the lovely flowers.

Ever since I was a child, I have gone down at the fishermen’s cottages on Ängö. It is such a beautiful and peaceful environment that I can never get enough of. In the spring we usually goes and watch the boats being launched into the water. Hilda is always fascinated by the large crane that lifts boats from the water. This evening was nice and warm and the lake was a beautiful bright blue color.

Yesterday our friends Olof and Helena invited us for lunch at their house on Öland. We had a very nice time in their backyard eating fabulous bruschetta with home made pesto, grilled plaice with tomato salad and Tiramisú as dessert. Can it get any better on a Sunday? Helena writes a nice food blog and they are both talented chefs.
After lunch we went for a walk in the neighborhood and Hilda (and big girls) were playing on the playground. Öland is really a lovely place that we love so much.
Thanks Olof and Helena for an amazing day!
